Sponsorships

With less than € 1 a day you can help a child, put him through school, and change his life!

Sponsoring means giving opportunities to children and youth of low-income families to acquire a four-year degree course and enjoy other activities, which contribute to their developmental needs. Each beneficiary gets from one to four individual sponsors. Most of our sponsors come from France.

This is the centerpiece program of Alouette Foundation, which, is in response to the articulated need, and desire of the underprivileged children, youth and their families for education.

Services include :

Alouette's actiontop

Today, Alouette sponsors about 400 Filipino children in five regions: Manila, Quezon Province, Pangasinan, Baguio City and Mountain Province. These regions are all on the same route on the Island of Luzon, allowing us to keep track easily.

Securing an educationtop

During primary school and high school, the budget stays the same and only one sponsor is necessary. However, in college the fees vary and are higher, joint sponsorship is then needed. Management also becomes more difficult, in Europe and in Manila. The cost of this education usually covers registration and exam fees (often very expensive), school material, uniforms, shoes and mail. It may also include eventual transportation costs and food. For college students (college starts at 16 in the Philippines), it will eventually englobe study travel, diplomas, exam preparation.

Contracts with the Filipino familiestop

In return we ask of the Filipino families to be responsible, to honor their contracts with the foundation which involve meetings and action programs. The families that do not fulfill their contract will loose the sponsorship.

In order to avoid any kind of assistance, no direct money is given. It is a choice we have made to ensure that the sums collected be used for the children. We thought this to be necessary to make the sponsorship totally useful for the child and safe for the donor.

Managementtop

An educational team, made up of qualified social workers, based in Manila, manages each sponsorship separately.

We advise sponsors to start supporting a student and to then continue on with a child the age of their own. This will allow both children to benefit from a penpal. Correspondence is entirely personalized.

Automatic bank transfers are preferred.

Mailtop

The letters you will receive from the sponsored student will always go through the foundation first. This avoids direct request for money, since the foundation would have no control over the way it is spent.

Your own messages to your sponsored child are to be addressed, preferably in English, to:

Visitingtop

If you wish to visit your sponsored child, please call or email us : alouette.bernard@yahoo.com

Caution!

Never put any cash money directly in an enveloppe. Every shipment of money or gift (Christmas, birthday) will come through our intermediary. Indeed, for safety, profit and taste reasons, it is better to let the Filipino staff buy the presents.

Engagement

A sponsorship program is meant to last over a few years, especially when a child is involved. If you must stop your action, you must let us know at least 3 months in advance in order to allow us to find a new sponsor to take over.

Warning

Due to reasons involving the family of the sponsored child (moving - non observation of the contract - other) We may need to introduce you to a new sponsored child. In this case, you will be notified as quickly as possible for the reason of this change.

Thank you for your solidarity and your sharing.
